The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Direct support to the chair of Enactus UvA

  • Manage the funds of the organization, balancing impactful spending with restraint for rainy days

The Vice-Chair

As Vice-Chair, my responsibilities can be split three ways. First, as the person directly beneath the Chair, I step in for Sophie if she is ever absent, and also consult with her on matters concerning partners and the projects. My next responsibility is the financial stability of the organization and project teams. It is my duty to supervise the spendings and savings of Enactus UvA, but also to support the treasurers of every project so the teams can make appropriate investments. The final responsibility as Vice-Chair is documentation. This task is crucial for the continuity of Enactus UvA and to learn from past mistakes.

This year, a major goal I focused on was enabling projects to build financial confidence through training treasurers and supervising treasurers. The training and supervision took place through function-specific meetings and workshops across the year. By providing projects with financial confidence, they are able to implement their ideas. But perhaps more importantly, I properly documented and organized information to allow all members to build on prior knowledge instead of repeating mistakes. This is made sure by taking notes at every meeting and storing all relevant information in the appropriate folders.

  • Continuously update documentation, whether financial or other (includes taking minutes)

  • Reach out to partners regarding financial matters in tandem with External Relations
